At this meeting, members will vote on proposed updates to the Alberta Native Bee Council bylaws.
Summary of changes to ANBC Bylaws
Article 3 - Board of Directors
Amended significantly to clarify the role and responsibilities of the Board of Directors.
Included a term of office for Board members (2 years) and maximum number of terms (2).
Amended to specify that the Board of Directors Code of Conduct will be contained in ANBC policy. This will outline criteria by which board members may be removed from the board.
Amended to specify a minimum number of meetings per year.
Article 4 - Duties of Board Members
Significantly amended to clarify the roles of executive members of the Board.
Article 6 - Elections
Amended to remove the clause specifying that a member of the board may be removed by a majority vote of the membership, transitioning to a Code of Conduct to define criteria for removal from the Board as per Article 4.
Amended to specify that nominations to the Board of Directors must be made by a member of the council, and that nominations must be submitted prior to the AGM, moving away from requiring nominations during the AGM.
